I-feed is South Korea’s number one brand for piglet feed.

Piglet feed is provided once the piglet is weaned from its mother, usually from 25 days to 60 days since birth. The feed consists of three formulae numbered 1, 2 and 3. Each formula caters to the different stages of the piglet’s digestive and physiological development and bodyweight as their needs for nutrients differ. The feed is made of dairy, crops, functional additives, vitamins and minerals mixed at a ratio appropriate for each development stage.

Plant for specialized piglet feed is constructed

I-feed completed the construction of a plant to focus on the manufacturing of feed used exclusively for piglets, based on the best resources and technologies of the company

A dream is born. I-feed brand is launched. Dedicated feed for PMWS is launched.

I-feed brand was born with a strong will to instill growth into the swine industry of South Korea. A system exclusively dedicated to piglets is established.

1,000 tons of sales achieved. Field-oriented R&D is launched.
A research center dedicated to I-feed is established.

A full year was dedicated to developing feed exclusively for piglets.

2,000 tons of sales achieved. Certified for HACCP by Ministry of Agriculture.

The first piglet feed plant was certified for HACCP by the Ministry of Agriculture. This gave a further push for growth.

EASY OPEN bag is adopted for the first time in the industry.

The new packaging has not only removed feed bags cutting knives at farm but also allowed the preservation of the unique aroma and flavor of the feeds for a longer period until they reach the customers.

A new standard for piglet feed, 3,6,9 is presented.
Piggy G Series are launched.

With 300g of feed, the piglets are grown healthily. With 600g of feed, the piglets are grown further, and with 900g of feed the success of the pig-farmers comes close.

PPD(Piggy Program Design) services are launched.

I-feed PPD is scientific and efficient. It was presented as a tailored program for piglets.

Completed passion, I-Win is launched.
4,000 tons of sales achieved.

All possibilities are explored to achieve the ideal growth of piglets. Formulae were verified on the field to create I-Win.

Winia is launched.

Kings Meal pays particular attention to the digestibility and palatability of piglets to promote their growth.

Midas was born as a way to cleverly overcome the difficult market circumstances. It has since brought nutrition and health to piglets, and profitability and happiness to customers.

6,000 tons of sales achieved. I-Zinc, a feed with reduced Zinc content, is launched.

For sustainability in pig farming, the Zinc in the feces is an issue that needs to be resolved. I-Zinc reduced Zinc contents and filled up with beneficial nutrients in order to resolve the issue and achieve growth at the same time.

The trend in pig-farming in South Korea has been that of moving towards the hyperprolific sows that produce more piglets per litter. As a result, the birth weight of each piglet has been falling. This has led to a smaller bodyweight at the time of weaning and a longer days to market weight. This can have a negative impact on the profitability of the farming household. Growth of the piglets can be further undermined during the weaning period, as they are faced with many stress factors including the conversion from liquid feed to solid feed, a gap in their immune system, mixing and fights over hierarchy within their group.
To address such issues, a nutritional solution tailored to piglets is needed. Such a solution would meet the needs of the piglet, based on where they are in the development of their digestive system, excretion of digestive enzymes and their required nutrient levels. Moreover, to prevent PWD or post-weaning diarrhea, high quality ingredients are used in these solutions. If all these aspects are not taken into account, the growth of piglets and their health can be severely undermined. In other words, providing feed tailored to the bodyweight and days of age of the piglet is the way to maximize their growth.
As the animal industry in South Korea continues to progress, the total number of pigs bred in the swine industry has also been on an increase. This has led to consistent growth in the overall market for swine feed, as well as for piglet feed. In addition, with the emergence of swine breeds developed by programs based on natural selection and genetic principles that can achieve high growth in a short period of time while require more amounts of energy and nutrient in feed, the demand for specialized piglet feed providing a higher nutrient and energy content has surged with the times.
In line with these developments, I-feed has built a plant dedicated to the production of piglet feed and launched in 2004 South Korea’s first ever brand for piglet feed, establishing a brand image of high quality and high efficacy. By providing a wide range of solutions that meet customers’ needs, it has now become South Korea’s number one brand for specialized piglet feed.

During the early 2000’s in South Korea, ‘PMWS’ had a devastating effect on pig-farmers. The disease would always appear around 45 days since birth and was seen as a curse in the industry. Many thought long and hard on how to fight this disease and many attempts were made but the answer seemed out of sight.
Then one day, we were reminded of what our mother used to always say to us.
“You have to eat well to get better. Make sure to eat plenty.”
The same thought process was applied to the development of I-feed. It was as if the words of our mothers that we’ve always heard since childhood, offered a golden key to success. Becoming a ‘golden key’ that can solve all the problems in the pig market is the world that I-Feed dreams.
